87.04

Kassim Kero Bati’s coffee ranked 28th in this year’s Cup of Excellence Ethiopia competition, scoring 87.04. He started his coffee farm in 1987 on 4.5 hectares of land in West Arsi, Nesebo woreda, Habera kebele, Oromia.
He currently produces 17,300 kilograms of natural sun-dried coffee beans which are sold locally. “My coffee receives the lowest price as I don’t know how to market it,” Kassim said. “This is the entry point for a whole different market opportunity, and I hope it will help me understand the international market, and get a better price,’’ he said.
